Architectural Assistant

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Leeds School of Architecture, I began my professional journey as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant at Comprehensive Design Architects in Edinburgh. There, I gained valuable early experience in practice, most notably contributing to works on the iconic Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street. I was involved in a variety of projects, developing key technical skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, among others.

Upon returning to Leeds to complete my Master’s degree in Architecture, I worked as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant at two of the city’s leading practices — DLG Architects and DLA Architecture. During this time, I strengthened my technical expertise and collaborated closely with clients and contractors, taking projects from early concept stages through to tender and early construction packages.

Architect

At Cunniff Design Architects, I have continued to develop my professional skillset, primarily within the Build to Rent (BTR) and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sectors across Leeds and Sheffield. One of my key projects, Brotherton House in Leeds, served as my Part 3 case study, through which I completed my architectural qualification.

In addition to project work, I have contributed to the practice’s marketing strategy, producing brochures, visual content, and managing social media campaigns to help promote the company’s design work and ethos.
